Listening, Healing, Rebuilding

At the Hamilton Center for Child Advocacy, we are dedicated to transforming lives through three core pillars of our mission: Listening, Healing, and Rebuilding. By providing a safe space for children to share their stories, offering therapeutic and medical care to foster recovery, and advocating tirelessly for families, we work to restore safety, foster resilience, and empower families to create brighter tomorrows.  This vital work is made possible through strong partnerships with law enforcement, the Department of Human Services (DHS), and the Crimes Against Children Division of the State Police (CACD), ensuring a collaborative approach to justice and healing.

Listening

Forensic Interviews

At the Hamilton Center for Child Advocacy, Listening begins with our forensic interview program, a cornerstone of our commitment to children and families in need. When a child discloses abuse or neglect, our trained forensic interviewers provide a safe, neutral, and compassionate space for them to share their experiences. These interviews are tailored to each child’s developmental level, conducted in a way that minimizes trauma, and are crucial for the investigative process. By carefully listening, we ensure the voices of children are heard, validated, and protected, setting the foundation for justice and healing.

Healing

Healing: Therapy

Healing is central to our mission, addressing the emotional and physical scars left by abuse. Through our therapy program, we provide trauma-focused, evidence-based interventions tailored to the unique needs of each child. Our skilled therapists help children process their experiences, regain confidence, and rebuild a sense of safety.

Healing: Sexual Assault Exams

Our S.A.N.E. Nurse ensures that children receive compassionate care through specialized exams, conducted in a supportive environment that prioritizes their well-being. These services not only aid recovery but also support investigations when needed. At the Hamilton Center for Child Advocacy, healing is about restoring hope and helping families take their first steps toward a healthier, brighter future.

Rebuilding

Rebuilding: Advocacy and Support Services

Rebuilding happens through the unwavering dedication of our advocacy team, who walk alongside children and families every step of the way. From the moment families enter our center, our advocates provide resources, emotional support, and guidance tailored to their needs. Whether it’s accompanying a child to court to provide reassurance during a trial or connecting families to food, housing, and clothing resources, we help rebuild lives disrupted by trauma.

Our advocacy program extends beyond immediate support, fostering lasting change by staying in touch with families until they are firmly on the path to healing. At the Hamilton Center, rebuilding means empowering children and families to move forward with strength, dignity, and hope.

All services provided at the Hamilton Center is at no cost to our clients.
