Job Position: Family Advocate

Job Summary:  A Family Advocate plays a crucial role at the Hamilton Center for Child Advocacy, providing essential support and services to child victims of abuse and their non-offending family members. Their primary responsibilities include offering advocacy and case management services, assisting with crisis intervention, and making referrals to appropriate social service organizations. 

The Advocate supports families throughout the entire child abuse investigation process, from intake to disposition, and sometimes even longer. By delivering culturally sensitive and well-coordinated care, the Advocate ensures that the unique needs of each family are met. 

The presence of an Advocate is vital in reducing trauma for both children and their families. They work diligently to advocate for successful case resolutions, empower non-offending caregivers, and influence community groups towards better handling and understanding of child sexual abuse issues. The Family Advocate’s role is fundamental in fostering a supportive environment that prioritizes the well-being and recovery of child victims and their families.
